How To Talk About Voting
It’s so important to be respectful to other points of view while being armed with valid reasons for supporting Democratic Candidates at all levels of Government. Ask questions about the issues they think are important and truly listen. Then talk about those things from the perspective of the Democratic party. We have a great record and a great plan on virtually every subject!
A Few tips on talking to your close circle of friends and family:

-
Ask if they are voting and if they have a plan to vote.
-
Offer to ride together or help request a mail in ballot if appropriate.
-
State your intent to vote blue and have a few short reasons
(“Investing in green energy is important to me.” or “I’m concerned about Women’s right to health care.” – Pick your reasons, make them succinct, and make it about you)
-
Wear something that states your preference, Hat , Shirt or Pin. Non-verbal statement.
-
You don’t have to be combative to be effective.
A few well-placed FACTS, then changing the subject to more mundane topics will allow the conversation to continue and may break any tension about ‘Talking Politics’.
